Summary of Practice
Peter’s primary areas of practice are estate planning, business and taxation. Prior to joining Bosso Williams in 2000, he was a solo practitioner in San Jose and Santa Cruz for 33 years.
During the past 46 years, Peter has focused on estate planning and the formation and operation of closely held businesses, such as corporations, partnerships and LLCs, including the sale or purchase of business entities.
Peter is certified by the State Bar of California as a Tax Specialist. He uses his tax knowledge extensively in both his business and estate planning practices.
In the area of estate planning, he works with both large and small estates to help his clients save taxes and avoid probate. He has helped clients reduce their estate tax exposure with the use of Family Limited Partnerships, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Life Insurance Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence trusts and other tax savings arrangements.
Over the past 46 years of practice, Peter has seen and advised his clients on a myriad of tax, estate planning and business matters.
Professional Organizations
For the past 14 years, Peter has been Chairman of the Santa Cruz County Estate Planning Council. He is also a member of the Silicon Valley Bar Association and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He is a member of the Estate Planning and Business Law Sections of the California State Bar.
Community Involvement
Peter is past president of the Santa Cruz County Bar Association. From 2002-2008, he was a vice president and board member of the Museum of Art and History at the McPherson Center in Santa Cruz, and a member of the Community Advisor Network - part of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County.
